Shockabsorber bench

Increase your customers safety - offer a shock absorber test!

The shock absorber is a safety product which often is forgotten. Bad shock absorbers affects the breaking and handling of the vehicle. A test is recommended by the manufacturers each time you perform a service. ACTIA together with Tenneco have developed an easy and userfriendly tester for the workshop. The results focus on operating condition of the shock absorber, represented by the C.A.P. (Phase Damping Coefficient). This value is independent of vehicle’s other variables (weight, tyre pressure) that affect the test methods known today.

An innovative concept
The product consists of a low-profile adjustable measurement bench on which the vehicle axle is placed for the test. With 12 cm maximal height at the central section, the installation does not require civil works, or any extra investment.

How it works
The Expert Suspension Tester differs from current suspension benches by analysing the response of the shock absorber around the resonance frequency (the most critical frequency for road holding), rather than looking for the minimum grip of wheels (EUSAMA method).

Easy to interpret
Interpretation by the user is simple thanks to a classification into 3 categories: good, damaged, defective.

Results print out

The complete test of a vehicle is performed within 3 minutes. The result can be printed and shows the condition of each shock absorber, and the dissymmetry per axle.
